Throughout the students’ reading journey, there are several different strategies and tools I utilize to maintain student engagement. I also have weekly roles for the students to help with accountability and participation in their literature circle.

During ECI 509: Teachers as Writers with Dr. Robinson, my students and I had the opportunity to connect with three classes in Korea. Not only did this provide my students with an authentic audience, it also served us with global connections with our novels and a great Social Studies mini lesson.
